i used to wait for the night
then i was with you
and there’s not enough time in the day.

girl of my dreams
every dream comes to an end
days and nights grew longer.
many came and went.

wake up
return to stasis
time never wasted
love appreciated, reciprocated.

learning to live without you.
floodgates opened
beginning to swim.
can’t believe we came this far.

yesterday i found myself
conscious, smiling
around those i hold closest.
time is all we have.
