do i give up when one thing isn’t right?
do i give up when bad habits come to light?
what of my bad habits?

is she right to go
when her sight
sees that i ain’t been living right?
that i may not be her ideal delight?

do i let a hill
cease the thrill
of climbing the mountain
of romance? of partnership?

of what is even going on?
my mistake for not asking of
step one in everlasting.
is that what she wants? am i?

my mind swayed by
a metal prison in my pocket
on what is love?
could it be staying with one another

until we are above?
could it be
the kisses in the night?
when everything feels alright?
